Phalanx
  1. Mass Effect 2 Predator Vs Carnifex

The Carnifex X with a rank 10 barrel, maxed out Pistol passive tree, 20% bonus damage from aiming, and bonus damage from having the augment for having full shields still kills enemies in the same amount of bullets as my rank 2 Carnifex I bought from a vendor at the start of my first playthrough. Specialty ammunition still exists in Mass Effect 2, but in the form of character-specific video game powers. Some adaptation is thus preferable in a pen-and-paper RPG context. The main ammo types are: Disruptor. Carries an electric charge that messes with shields, synthetic organisms and some Mass Effect-powered systems such as firearms. Phalanx now has 55 instead of 65 damage. Still, it offers an edge, since it's a DLC weapon and people payed additional money for it, so I believe it'd do it good to be above Carnifex and Predator, but again not too much so people who fancy the two mentioned can still use them without feeling they're missing out on anything. ... on classes that don't get time dilation or ammo powers, and without using a click macro?

Mass

Specifically, how does it compare to the other AR's in power or even the Viper (which it is based on to an extent)?

A lot of old timey threads just talk about how it is so much more powerful than the other choices on some of the casters without a lot of numbers that I could find. Some claims also seem to be contrary to what I would expect numbers to actually show if they are calculated correctly.

Might do some maths later today just for the hell of theorycrafting, but want some current day opinions.
